Turning down a drink at the main bar

A real situation from the OGIMA community · Everyday Berlin

The scene

Kit Kat, main bar, fluorescent blue light on your hands. Someone's pushing a drink at you with a smile that's half-flirt, half-pressure. You need to be crisp enough to shut it down without starting a scene in a place where scenes travel.

Why this moment is tricky in Germany

Kit Kat is a Berlin institution for sex-positive club culture, but the etiquette around drink-offers and 'no' is uncompromising: a clear refusal is respected. In clubs where the consent framework is weaker (some commercial clubs in tourist cities), the same 'no' can provoke more pushback.

Rehearse it before it happens

This situation is practised out loud in OGIMA: you speak, an AI conversation partner answers back, and you rerun it until the real thing feels routine.
