Sending a cheesy text after the Berghain set
A real situation from the OGIMA community · Everyday Berlin
The scene
It's 6 am, you're still at the bar, ears ringing from the Panorama Bar closer. You've been meaning to text the person you danced with, and the smoked-cheese-level pickup line has been in your head for three hours. You tap it out with eyes half-closed.
Why this moment is tricky in Germany
Berghain texting etiquette is its own subculture — in-group humor runs dry, post-ironic, and highly self-aware. A sincere line from the US/romantic script reads as alien; an over-earnest line in Berlin gets taken as bit.
Rehearse it before it happens
This situation is practised out loud in OGIMA: you speak, an AI conversation partner answers back, and you rerun it until the real thing feels routine.
