Meeting friends at the Kreuzberg mezcal bar
A real situation from the OGIMA community · Everyday Berlin
The scene
Corner table in the back, copal candles burning, and your friends are already one flight in. You slide onto the bench, the server hands over the mezcal menu (seven regions, fifteen smokes), and someone wants a recommendation before you've even sat down.
Why this moment is tricky in Germany
Berlin's mezcal scene is part of a wider Mexican-food-and-drink renaissance in Kreuzberg and Neukölln. Genuine espadín-only bars are newer here than in New York or London, and the crowd often includes design-industry expats who learned mezcal in Oaxaca and brought it back.
Rehearse it before it happens
This situation is practised out loud in OGIMA: you speak, an AI conversation partner answers back, and you rerun it until the real thing feels routine.
